Grace Center for Behavioral Health

Grace Center for Behavioral Health, a hospital-based psychiatric program specifically for adults, provides confidential, quality mental health services to help clients and their families function more effectively.

Behavioral Health Services at Blue Ridge HealthCare include:

Inpatient Adult Psychiatric Program
The inpatient program is for adults who have a primary psychiatric diagnosis - such as depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, personality disorders, chronic mental illness, single episode trauma or crisis, or schizophrenia. Housed in a 22-bed locked unit, patients participate in several therapy formats such as individual, group, family, medication management groups and therapeutic recreation. We accept voluntary admissions as well as involuntary commitments.

Grace Center for Behavioral Health is capable of treating geriatric patients who meet our general adult admission criteria with acute psychiatric symptoms.  Our milieu-based model requires patients have sufficient cognitive ability and physical mobility to benefit from the program.  Those patients with advanced dementia or significant medical co-morbidity would not be appropriate for admission.

24-hour Crisis Line
A qualified behavioral health professional is available 24 hours a day to discuss and assist anyone calling with a behavioral health problem or crisis.

Emergency Receiving Facility
The Grace Hospital Emergency Department can receive psychiatric patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Involuntary Commitment
Involuntary commitment provides emergency psychiatric care in a safe environment for starting the recovery process.
