| The Blue Ridge HealthCare H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Endure) Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 10 in the Outpatient Surgery Lobby of Grace Hospital. Guest speaker, William H. Lane, M.D. with Morganton Family Medicine will discuss “Genetic Screening for Breast Cancer.”
"When a member of my family was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was concerned for that person's health, as well as other family members who are now at risk of developing breast cancer,” said Dr. Lane. “My goal for this program is to explain the role and limitations of genetic screening for breast cancer and help alleviate anxiety and uncertainty around this issue."
Dr. Lane received his undergraduate degree in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He completed his medical studies at Duke University. Dr. Lane is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
