| Blue Ridge HealthCare will be hosting a free community Cancer Awareness Forum on Tuesday, October 22 at Christ United Methodist Church in Drexel. During this education program Linda Mulvihil, Western North Carolina Quality Management Specialist for Cancer Registry, will discuss cancer trends in North Carolina including the trends in Burke and surrounding counties. After her presentation several local physicians will be holding concurrent information sessions will on specific cancers including: Breast Cancer – Carolyn Mook, MD, Prostate Cancer – Greg Jones, MD, Colo-Rectal Cancer – Alan Jacks, MD and Screenivas Reddy, MD, Lung Cancer – Charles Cummings, MD and Skin Cancer – Frank Steele, MD.
