Patients who have experienced a recent heart attack, cardiac surgery, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, such as asthma or chronic bronchitis, often require exercise and lifestyle modification to resume active and productive lives. Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation services assist cardiologists, pulmonologists and primary care physicians in treating patients to help lower complications, reduce hospital re-admissions, and maximize the quality of patient care. Medicare, and most insurance companies cover cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
