Volunteerism is the art of pairing one’s interests and talents with the needs and mission of an organization.
The individuals who volunteer at Blue Ridge HealthCare (BRHC) provide services in the following areas: guest relations, gift shop operations, the various departments within the BRHC system, and special projects of BRHC. In 2010, the BRHC Volunteers donated approximately $35,000 to the charitable projects of BRHC (i.e., healthcare related scholarships, the Life Line program, digital mammography, special events for long term nursing care patients, oncology patients, medication/transportation needs, etc.)
The annual monetary gifts from the BRHC Volunteers are from the profits of the gift shop at Valdese Hospital and Grace Hospital, along with vendor sales and donations.
"The Very Thing Gift Shop" at Valdese Hospital is open Monday-Friday from 9a.m.-4p.m. and for limited hours on Saturdays.
The "Touch of Grace Gift Shop" is open Monday-Friday from 9a.m.-6p.m. and for limited hours on Saturday and Sunday.)
If you’d like BRHC to be the recipient of your interests, time, talents, and compassion, please consider volunteering with us. Contact Susan Pollpeter at 580-5483 or firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
Applications are available through Susan or at the front desk of both hospitals.
